Reviews & Scores
Medium depth of colour, some inbuilt reduction along with relatively youthful red fruit. Some stems in the back ground, moderate ripeness. An attractive perfume develops in the glass though. A little sweet fruit at first but pulled back by the minimal ripeness. Still an extremely pleasing wine on the palate, and scores very well for persistence. But it is not clear that 2007 lends itself well to the whole bunch approach. - JM

A pale and lilting wine in the glass that has a very complex and foresty edge, very brooding and deep, rich and elusive; there's a hint of musky pink fruit fragrance that will build with time, some cinnamon, earth, gently decaying leaves and an underlying creamy oak layer. The palate has bright acidity, finely webbed tannins that wrap and hold soft, supple, fleshy red cherry fruit flavours, long and assertive, powerful and balanced. (NS) - JS

The 2007 Echézeaux from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti is a beautiful middleweight in the making, with the intense red fruit of the vintage and the great elegance in florid display, as the wine jumps from the glass in a blaze of cherries, blood orange, vinesmoke, violets, Vosne spices and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is medium-full, very pure and very transparent in this vintage, with a solid core of fruit, tangy acids, lovely focus and fine length and grip on the moderately tannic and very pure finish. A lovely bottle. - JG
